Excellence in Construction

WCPG is an award-winning builder celebrated for excellence in residential construction across Western Canada. Highlights of our work include the beachfront luxury community Qualicum Landing on Vancouver Island, which was honoured with the 2012 Grand Georgie Award for Best Residential Community of the Year and won a total of three Georgie Awards, showcasing its exceptional design, superior quality, and significant contribution to British Columbia’s residential landscape. Our innovative Passive House project in Fort St. John has also received multiple accolades, further demonstrating our commitment to design excellence, quality, and sustainable construction.

Dave Steele –
Chief Executive Officer

Dave Steele leads Western Canadian Properties Group with the principle: build great communities by building a great team. As CEO since the company’s inception, he brings over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality residential communities across Western Canada and the Western United States.

Throughout his career, Dave has guided teams responsible for hundreds of developments and renovations, representing more than $7 billion in real estate. His leadership style is rooted in partnership, transparency, and putting the right people in the right roles—values that define WCPG’s culture.

A long-time member and past International President of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), Dave has helped grow a global network of business leaders committed to stronger companies and communities. At WCPG, he ensures the team has the vision, support, and guidance to deliver award-winning work and lasting impact. Together, we build communities we are proud of.

James Ferrie –
Chief Operating Officer

James Ferrie leads WCPG’s construction and development operations, ensuring every project delivers quality, accountability, and long-term community value. His experience spans commercial, civic, and residential development, giving him a well-rounded, solutions-driven approach to every project. Before joining WCPG, James served as President of James Alexander Construction (JAC), delivering major facilities for clients such as The City of Vancouver, Costco, Safeway, and Brookfield Lepage Johnson Controls. His leadership on the award-winning Qualicum Landing beachfront community—recognized with 14 CARE Awards and three Georgie Awards, including BC’s Grand Georgie Award for Best Residential Community—demonstrates the standard of excellence he brings to WCPG. James also has a deep passion for social housing, championing projects that create long-term impact and provide safe, accessible housing for residents in need. Today, he oversees the full lifecycle of developments, aligning design, construction, and client expectations while fostering collaboration, innovation, and craftsmanship. Let’s Build Together.

Matt Kamer –
Director of Construction

With over 20 years of experience, Matt Kamer provides hands-on leadership across WCPG’s construction projects, managing the full development lifecycle from land acquisition through occupancy. He brings particular expertise in high-rise residential towers, ensuring complex, large-scale projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards. Matt is known for operational excellence, risk management, and team collaboration. He ensures that each project reflects WCPG’s core values of quality, reliability, accountability, and community impact, while maintaining clear communication with homeowners, partners, and stakeholders. His work embodies the strength of WCPG’s culture: experienced people working together with purpose, passion, and shared commitment. This is how we build, and this is how we move forward together.

Dexter Wilkin –
Vice President of Finance

Dexter Wilkin oversees WCPG’s financial strategy, corporate and project accounting, and capital structures. He leads all project financing initiatives, including land acquisition, construction loans, and CMHC takeout financing, ensuring every development is grounded in sound financial management.

With 13 years of experience, including past roles at Ernst & Young (EY) and Amazon, Dexter brings rigorous analytical skills and strategic insight. At EY, he led assurance teams for Vancouver real estate companies, and at Amazon he served as a product line controller for digital devices sold worldwide. Dexter holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from Queen’s University and is a CPA (BC).

Dexter ensures WCPG’s projects are financially strong, supporting sustainable growth and the long-term value of the communities we build.

Zach Ireland –
Development Manager

Zach Ireland manages preconstruction and development for WCPG’s multifamily and mixed-use communities across British Columbia. A University of Guelph graduate in Real Estate and Housing, Zach also earned his Real Estate Sales License before working in pre-construction sales, giving him a well-rounded perspective on planning and delivery. Zach oversees feasibility studies, acquisitions support, municipal approvals, consultant and design coordination, budgeting, and scheduling, guiding projects from early concept to construction handover. Known for his collaborative approach and clear communication, he ensures projects are efficiently executed and thoughtfully designed for the communities they serve.

Andrea Pearmain –
Vice President, People & Culture

Andrea Pearmain leads WCPG’s people and culture initiatives, fostering an inclusive, high-performing workplace where talent thrives. Holistic and pragmatic in her approach, she is consistently learning and expanding her capabilities, supported by certificates in organizational design development and behaviour.

 She develops programs that support professional growth, team collaboration, and employee well-being, ensuring the company attracts, develops, and retains exceptional individuals. Her leadership strengthens the foundation of WCPG—our people—so we can continue delivering exceptional communities while maintaining a culture of collaboration, support, and shared purpose.

Danielle Scharbach –
Business Development & Marketing

Danielle Scharbach drives WCPG’s business development and marketing efforts, building strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. She ensures the company’s projects, values, and expertise are communicated clearly, fostering confidence, trust, and long-term collaboration.

Danielle plays a key role in highlighting the value, quality, and vision behind each WCPG project, helping clients and partners feel informed, supported, and confident throughout every stage of engagement.
